Kris Kallman was born in Santa Barbara in 1948. He graduated from Santa Barbara High School in 1967, Santa Barbara City College (A. A. 1969), California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo (B.A.1971), and Pepperdine University School of Law (J.D. 1975). After passing the California Bar Exam in 1975, Kris returned to Santa Barbara and accepted a position as a trial lawyer with Tom Halde and Associates, later known as Halde, Thomas, Kallman and Hulse. That firm specialized in insurance defense trial work, and Kris handled hundreds of injury cases to conclusion. In 1984, Kris opened his own law office specializing in representing injured persons in serious auto accidents, products and premises liability, and selected medical malpractice cases.
Kris Kallman has a long history of civic and professional involvement in Santa Barbara. As a resident of one of the world’ s most beautiful cities, Kris has followed a three generation tradition of service to the community. He has served on the board of the Santa Barbara Zoo, has served as President of the Arthritis Foundation, on the board of the 19th District Agricultural Association (Earl Warren Showgrounds), and was elected El Presidente of Old Spanish Days Fiesta, one of the largest regional festivals in the west.
Professionally, Kris has served on the board of the Santa Barbara County Bar Association, and served as President of the San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He has been a member of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, and has lectured for MCLE credit concerning tort litigation techniques. Kris also served as an adjunct professor at the Santa Barbara College of Law, teaching first year Torts. Kris has tried nearly fifty (50) jury trials, all involving injury to persons and/or property. He has served as a judge pro tern in the Santa Barbara Superior Court, and is often used as an arbitrator in personal injury cases.
Jordan D. Hankey
Jordan Hankey graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2004, with a bachelors’ degree in Psychology and a minor in Music. Thereafter, he worked in the legal field as a paralegal and law clerk while attending the Santa Barbara College of Law. While at the College of Law, Jordan earned CALI awards for achieving the highest grades in Contracts and Torts. He was admitted to the State Bar in 2009.
Jordan was an associate with Hager & Dowling for two and a half years, with an emphasis on insurance law, personal injury and products liability. He has extensive experience investigating automobile accident cases of disputed liability. Jordan’s experience with an insurance defense firm is invaluable. He obtained insight regarding insurer’s procedures when processing, investigating and evaluating bodily injury claims.
Jordan began working for the Law Offices of Kristofer Kallman in 2012, and in 2016 he became a partner in Kallman & Hankey, LLP. Jordan has extensive experience in Plaintiff's Personal Injury, Insurance Defense and Insurance Coverage, Medical Malpractice, Mold Litigation and Contract Law.
